UPDATES
Well folks? It's February 2010...and what has been goin' on with Thomas Sparks you ask? Recording of my sophemore body of work has been put on hold until I can get a few items I need to finish. The good news on that front is that I have a couple or few local musicians and possibly even a BIG name or two that want to help out.
The Thomas Sparks Show (My Vidcast) is also clearly on hold until I can find a proper location to podcast from. But I promise by the end of Spring 2012, it can be witnessed again Sundays at 1pm right here at tsm.com on my video streams page or you can watch at the source by making an account at www.ustream.tv.
It's free and it's fun y'all!!
Now,,,So far in April 2012,(TBA) I will be playing J&M's Cafe in Seattle. Prestigious, in that it's the last venue to host live music in Pioneer Square (How weird is that?)
In May I will be at The Backstage Bar & Grill in Tacoma. Also (To Be Announced).
Then upon returning to Tacoma in July, my agent Jan and I have something pretty big brewing. As soon as all parties involved have signed the contracts. I can share the surprise. I am very excited about this and have been Eight Miles High about it for weeks now!
As far as what my bandmember line-up is? I will probably be making solo appearances which means it will be either John Eddy on bass, or Eric Fryar on bass and myself on guitar and vox.
On a side note , recently I have been vying for a job playing rythym guitar and singing backing vocals with Brad Smith (known mainly from Blind Melon fame) in his other project Abandon Jalopy. I was born for this gig...
Until we see each other,,,I'm here America...Sincerely, Thomas
2011 Highlights
Ya know it's an omen for the year, when the first show you play is a funeral for a good friend's daughter, and as it turned out, it WASN'T my best year.
I still got around though, and the shows I DID play were all larger than the last...I played at the famous Piecora's Pizza in Seattle which saw Rob Robinson and I reunite as a duo. Then came the Relief for Japan Benefit which was a success!
I played an impromptu set out back of Gray's warehouse and had the place rockin' and hangin' onto my every word and note. There were more people out back with me than inside I think!
I also entered into a Battle of the Bands that was a learning experience to say the least. But the highlight of my year in 2011 was playing a good ole' acoustic set right here in my back yard for the neighbors,,,I had more fun that August night than I have in a long time, and it was the one show that wasn't even scheduled!
